Falcons primary school
In 2013 Radius was approached by the team behind a new free school proposed for Leicester. Based on the Sikh ethos, Falcons Primary School would be unique – responding to the needs of the local Sikh community but open to families of any or no faith. It would naturally be an attractive proposition to Leicester’s Sikh community, so the biggest challenge would be to attract the interest of others.
Unlike many other free schools that set out with a temporary logo, we were involved at an early stage and the team saw the value of allowing us to explore alternative solutions to their suggested logo. The brand identity and supporting visual identity were established in time to be applied to a range of marketing materials used during the mandatory public consultation process. Presenting the school to a professional standard helped give greater credibility to the team's proposition and allowed them to fully engage with parents, community groups, faith groups and local councils. As the school progressed towards opening we designed and produced the prospectus, stationery and worked with a uniform supplier on the production of uniform and bags.
Falcons Primary School opened in 2014 and now has over 100 pupils, growing organically year by year.
